Make room for recovery
Challenging work and recovery belong in the same routine.
An effort you can repeat
General strength training does not require taking every set to the point where another rep is impossible. Choose a challenge you can manage with consistent technique. Stop or adapt a movement that causes pain.
Adjust the day, keep the habit
After demanding sessions, leave space for recovery before training the same muscles hard again. If you feel unusually tired, choose a shorter session, lighter resistance or a rest day.
Compare your recorded sets across sessions to spot patterns. Sleep, energy and the load you used provide context for your numbers. Progress is something to observe across sessions, not a target you must beat every day.
