Your space to move
ALWAYS OPEN. ALWAYS FREE.

Movement for everyone.

You don't need a subscription to make time for yourself. Just a little space, a little curiosity, and a place to begin.

A little room to grow.

OpenWorkout is a free movement companion: 77 workouts, 16 structured training plans, and 885 exercises with written guidance and movement demonstrations. Browse, build your own sessions, follow a plan, and keep a journal of the times you showed up.

Your data stays with you.

This version works without an account or a server database. Favorites, custom workouts, completed sessions, preferences, and plan progress are stored in your browser. There is no automatic cloud sync. Use the export and import tools in Settings to make backups or move your data between devices. Clearing browser storage removes local data.

Help keep movement open.

If you'd like to support the project, you can buy printplayprotect a coffee on Ko-fi. Contributions are optional, and every workout and training plan remains free. The support page loads its donation widget from Ko-fi.

Demonstrations, honestly explained.

Nineteen exercises include locally hosted movement videos, credited to Goulart / wger under CC BY-SA 4.0. Each video shows its source and license; the clips are resized, re-encoded and muted. The full attribution and changes and license are included. The original OpenWorkout routines include five additional filmed demonstrations for squats, forward and reverse lunges, mountain climbers, and push-ups, sourced from public-domain USMC videos on DVIDS. The individual credits, public-use conditions and changes are included. All 33 original-library clips now use 640 × 360 landscape frames. The remaining movements retain the supplied animations, fitted proportionally with padding to preserve their full frame, timing and watermarks. Their original source details are bundled separately; the wger license does not apply to those assets. Original banners are included with their routines. Other demonstrations alternate between two reference photographs to show starting and finishing positions. Those photo demonstrations do not show every part of the movement. Read the written instructions, take your time, and choose movements and resistance you can control. Alternating targets include both sides. For a step explicitly labeled Left or Right, perform the full target on the named side.

Exercise descriptions and reference images come from Free Exercise DB by Yuhonas and contributors, provided under the Unlicense. This release bundles its available images locally; catalog entries missing either images or instructions are excluded from browsing. The original license is included. Workout and plan descriptions, interface illustrations, and the player were created for OpenWorkout.

Room to rest, too.

Plans are general fitness routines, not personalized training or rehabilitation programs. Rest days are intentional. Adjust the pace, skip a movement, and take extra rest whenever you need it. Stop if a movement causes pain. The focus is consistency, not pushing through discomfort.

Offline, with a little preparation.

Visit the app online first so it can save its application shell. Use “Make available offline” on a workout to download its movement images. Your browser manages available storage and may evict downloads. Reopen the workout online if an image is missing. Device wake lock, voice guidance, and installation depend on browser support.

OpenWorkout uses no advertising or analytics scripts. Fonts, exercise images, and application assets are hosted with the app. No third-party request is needed to browse or train. DM Sans and Manrope are included under the SIL Open Font License.
